This is our last week, and the only assignment you have is to post your video on Flipgrid. Please use the code that was provided the week before. This week will be our viewing party. Post and view your classmates’ videos. Make sure that you speak in your video and send your classmates and myself a last message. I miss you all and hope that you have a very successful 7th grade. This week we will continue with Poetry. We will take a close look to Figurative Language in Poetry. We will analyze simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, and idiom. We will also continue to analyze the theme (message in the poem) and use textual evidence to support our answers. After analyzing the poem, you will use figurative language to create your own poem. The conflict is surrounding the game of baseball, and it will all unfold in the form of innings in the game. You will analyze theme, as you read, underline words that show emotions, please read the purpose for reading and show how the characters’ attitude change in the course of the story, and circle unfamiliar words. You have two days to read and complete the activities that follow the short story (pages 285-291). El conflicto gira en torno al juego de beisbol y se va a realizar en forma de entradas en el juego. Van a analizar el tema, al leer, subraya palabras que indican emociones, por favor leer el objetivo de lectura y demuestra cómo la actitud de los personajes cambia en el curso de la historia y circula las palabras desconocidas.
